I don't think the issue is the posts showing up on the front page, but more the volume of posts.

Yup! That's a fair point. And something we're actively discussing just now too with the moderation team.

There wouldn't be a way of keeping them from showing up on the front page unfortunately. We are however discussing what's the right amount of prediction posts to have for each game. Today was our first go at it :).

They'll be accessible until the "tournament" ends (we'll be running tournaments for each remaining round of the playoffs). They'll only be on the front page today, they basically work the same as regular threads; however, you can still go back and view past predictions by clicking on the new "Predictions" tab which is only available via new Reddit or you can also just go to this link here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/predictions/

We're definitely still trying to find the right balance as far as how many predictions we want to do and how often to do them. I'd also say, it may feel like there are a lot of predictions going on on Reddit at the moment but also keep in mind that there's a lot going on right now. There's the UEFA Euro Cup that r/soccer is running prediction threads for, there's also E3 and the many gaming subreddits that are doing/did predictions for that, and you also have our sub now doing prediction threads for the NBA playoffs. I'd say odds are once these events have ended you won't see as many prediction threads on Reddit as you're seeing now.

Thanks! Fixed.

Could be both, but the messages the account posts on prediction threads are autogenerated (same set of messages shows up on any prediction thread across any sub!).

We did take a look over at r/soccer and how they've set up the new Predictions feature. It's something we're actively keeping an eye on and discussing with the moderation team.
